Karl Klinger, CFP®, CLU® has been in financial practice in Virginia Beach since 1994.  He is a Certified Financial Planner professional and Chartered Life Underwriter.  A graduate of Washington and Lee University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Special Attainments in Commerce, and is a graduate of the Old Dominion University Professional Financial Planner program.

From 1996 through 2002 he served as the Retirement Plans consultant for a locally owned employee benefits firm with a significant local presence where he worked extensively in design and installation of retirement plans for businesses.  He was principally responsible for the design and installation of eight new 401(k) plans, the conversion of three others, and takeover of an additional plan with numbers of participants ranging from a few to more than 400.  Karl has worked with more than a dozen employers to establish employee retirement savings plans.

Karl continues to be an active participant in The Financial Planning Association of Hampton Roads having served successively as President-Elect, President, and Chairman from 2001 through 2003 in addition to a long tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads chapter and it's predecessor organization.  Under his leadership, the Hampton Roads chapter was recognized by The Financial Planning Association with the Gold Level Achievement Award each year from 2001 through 2003.  Prior to entering the financial planning profession, Karl retired from a career in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer serving as a Bombardier/Navigator flying the A-6E Intruder.

Karl Klinger earned the Certified Financial Planner credential in 1996 and the Chartered Life Underwriter credential in 1998.  He is a Registered Representative of NEXT Financial Group, Inc. -- a Broker/Dealer firm [Member FINRA / SIPC] -- with FINRA licenses 6, 7, 63 and 65.  He maintains the following Virginia insurance licenses:  Life Insurance and Annuity Contracts, Health Insurance, and Variable Life and Annuity Contracts.
